Today, Thursday, November 29, 2012 there was a Press Confrence to address the situation with accused hactivist Jeremy Hammond and the conflict of interest with the Judge in the case. Anonymous released its owm statement with transcript in French as well as English.

Greetings! We are Anonymous.

We've come to deliver an important message regarding the trial of accused Anonymous Hacktivist Jeremy Hammond. We believe a great injustice is occurring in Jeremy's trial and that the public and media deserves to be aware of it. Jeremy is entitled to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal established by law. Under the current circumstances, that cannot be possible.

Now we will explain: Jeremy Hammond is a political activist that is being charged with involvement in the December 2011 hack of Stratfor. He is accused of releasing the Stratfor information to WikiLeaks.

The judge presiding over Jeremy's case is named Loretta Preska. During Jeremy's bail hearing Judge Preska portrayed Jeremy as a terrorist more dangerous than murderers and sexual predators, denied his bail and, before Jeremy and a gathering of his friends and family, announced the sentence he would face if found guilty : 360 months to life.

Communiqué de presse « For Great Justice ! » Anonymous récuse la juge fédérale « Loretta Preska » et dénonce un conflit d'intérêts au détriment de Jeremy Hammond.

Salutations ! Nous sommes Anonymous. Nous avons une annonce importante concernant le procès de l'hacktiviste Jeremy Hammond. Nous pensons qu'une grande injustice a lieu dans le procès de Jeremy et que le public et les médias doivent être informés. Jeremy Hammond a droit à un procès équitable dans un tribunal compétent, indépendant et impartial. Dans les circonstances actuelles, ce n'est pas possible.

Jeremy Hammond est un activiste politique qui est accusé d'avoir participé en Décembre 2011 au hack de l'agence de renseignement « Stratfor ». Il est accusé d'avoir donné des documents de l'agence « Stratfor » à WikiLeaks pour diffusion au public.

La juge en charge du dossier se nomme Loretta Preska. Lors de l'audience Loretta Preska qui a dépeint Jeremy comme étant un terroriste plus dangereux qu'un meurtrier ou un prédateur sexuel, a rejeté sa libération sous caution et a annoncé qu'il devra faire face s'il est reconnu coupable à une peine de prison allant de 360 mois(30 ans) à la perpétuité.

Ce que la juge Preska n'a pas révélé lors de cette audience, c'est qu'elle est liée par la loi de se retirer de cette affaire en raison d'un conflit d'intérêts direct. Le 11 Septembre 1983 Loretta Preska a épousé Thomas J. Kavaler, actuellement associé au cabinet d'avocats Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP.
