Do you remember the first time you voted in a Presidential Election?
Can you recall the candidates, the weather, the time in our history or details that made it different enough to last in your mind?
My first election was the post Watergate contest of Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford after the resignation of Richard Nixon.
It was monumental, but without the passion for looking forward as much as moving on.
This election has a very different energy and my son was among the millions of first time voters today.
We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather in New York, or a contest that had more at stake.
The proud mother in me couldn't let it go without doing something special to make a memorable event a little more so.
That's just in case there isn't enough history to preserve the event without my help!
I took my camera to his polling place, then went to see what MSNBC had going on in Rockefeller Plaza.
Even without pictures, there's no doubt he'll remember this one, as will millions who have embraced this election in a way we haven't seen in a generation.
Isn't it fantastic? It is!!
Do you remember your first time?
Is this the one you'll remember best?
Is it both, the first and best election in memory too?
Let's all hope it's the beginning of change we make happen, democratically!
