Video - CBS edits McCain gaffe from interview, provides fake answer for viewers to cover for McCain

advertisement

For the critics that claim the media is too critical of McCain, the reality that they are so much a part of the problem of fake news they are really supporting a criminal regime. It has nothing to do with two parties, but keeping an uninformed electorate where both candidates support immunity for lawbreakers.

Here's the edit versus the transcript, a great bit of foreign policy cred to add to McCain's comments about problems on the Iraq-Afghanistan border. That border for those who don't know is separated by Iran!!

This one is hard to even explain, it's so bizarre. McCain, looking just awful on camera, made yet another major gaffe about national security policy, on CBS. So what did Katie Couric do? She aired the interview with McCain, aired the question that led to the gaffe, and then inserted an "answer" to the question that wasn't the real gaffe-filled answer - it was something McCain said in a total other part of the interview. It's absolutely astounding how far the corporate media is willing to go in order to defend John McCain. And seriously, take a good look at McCain in this video, I was kind of shocked by his appearance - he doesn't look well at all.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Here's a blog that has the relevant portions of the transcript along with a link to CBS version of the full transcript that may or may not be edited as well. We know from the AP that change is one click away!
